PANEL DICUSSION #1: FINANCIAL SERVICES

The majority of targeted attacks against the finance industry is most likely to be used for financial gain.  Size and cost are rarely disclosed once an attack has occurred.  This panel will focus on current threats from the Bangladesh bank heist to mobile and online banking threats: What cyber threats is the financial industry worried about?  How are they protecting themselves and their customers?  What kinds of crimes are currently being prosecuted?  Do they feel the effects of the lack of cybersecurity experts in the workforce, not just in computer science but in legal and policy roles?  How might they be working with government and academia to strengthen the cyber security workforce?

PANEL DISCUSSION #2: INDUSTRY, ACADEMIA, GOVERNMENT: BUILDING THE WORKFORCE PIPELINE

A recent study found that in 2015, an estimated 209,000 cybersecurity jobs went unfilled.  With cyber crimes and a global talent shortage both getting worse, how can industry, academia, and government work together to better protect ourselves from adversaries?  This panel will discuss resource constraints, the need to produce more cybersecurity graduates into the workforce, the levels and types of talent needed (engineering, policy, research) and why cybersecurity experts are critical in providing protection to our financial, energy, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors.  What is industry doing to help promote education and produce more graduates they need?  What kind of research is necessary to protect our country and how do we invest in building our future workforce today?
